3d x-ray

SC DDS Family and Cosmetic Dentistry uses the latest dental technology because we want you to get the best care possible. This means we’re constantly looking for innovations in the industry, sifting through fads to find the best technology that we can buy for our office.

Often, we prefer 3D x-rays to 2D x-rays. These allow us to get a fuller understanding of your oral health, which in turn better equips us to come up with your treatment plan.

How 3D X-Rays Work

When you come to our office, we’ll ask you to step into our EBCT machine. Within a minute, we can take many different pictures, getting a full view of your oral health while exposing you to minimal radiation.

Once we have the x-rays, we’ll talk them over with you, explaining what they mean and the treatment plans that are best suited to address any issues we find.

Why Do We Take 3D X-Rays?

There are many issues 3D x-rays can show us, including:

  • tmj disorder
  • gum infection
  • diseases
  • misaligned teeth
Does Insurance Cover 3D X-Rays?

It often takes time for insurance companies to understand the importance of new technology. Many companies are now providing coverage for it, but if you have any questions, please reach out to our office so we can help you understand what your insurance policy will cover.
